Long-term Results with All-on-4
All-on-4 is a state-of-the-art restorative treatment that uses four implants to secure a set of dentures in each arch. Whether you’re missing all or most of your teeth, All-on-4 implants can help restore your smile almost immediately.
Benefits of All-on-4 Implants
There are a wide range of benefits that come with choosing All-on-4 implants, such as:
- Minimal recovery time for immediate results
- No bone graft required, in nearly all cases
- Stimulates healthy bone growth to keep your jaw strong
- Long-lasting results with a high success rate
- Fixed in place, so they won’t shift around
- Restores chewing function and natural appearance
- Cost effective and easy to maintain
In addition, this restorative treatment option can help prevent jawbone depletion thanks to durable and secured titanium implants. This’ll prevent serious consequences of tooth loss, such as facial collapse, an aged complexion, and possible infection.
Breaking Down the Process
At Dr. K. Ashraf Dentistry, our mission is to make the dental implant process as simple for you as possible. We want you to spend less time waiting for your treatment and more time enjoying your new smile.
The first step to a stunning new smile is your consultation with Dr. Ashraf. We’ll provide a thorough exam, explain your treatment options, and help you determine if All-on-4 is the right option for you.
Placing Your New Implant
After your initial consultation, the next step is placing your new dental implants. Dr. Ashraf will use four implants, two in the back and two in the front of the jawbone. All-on-4 implants are secured in the strongest section of the jaw, with stable bone density.
Once the implants are fixed, our Waterloo-Kitchener dentist will provide you with a temporary denture to speed up the healing process. After your implants have healed, you’ll come back to our practice to get fitted for a permanent denture. You’ll be given the option of a fixed or removable denture, depending on your unique circumstances.
Your new teeth are crafted to blend seamlessly with your natural smile. With your restoration firmly secured to your jaw, you’ll restore full function to your mouth and jaw. You’ll be able to eat and speak comfortably, and feel confident knowing your teeth look and feel fantastic.
Compared to Other Treatments
Unlike other dental implant solutions that may require a greater number of dental implants, the All-on-4 system uses only four dental implants for each arch of teeth. This helps to reduce the cost of treatment and usually results in a shorter recovery period.
Additionally, less dental implants mean a decreased risk of complication. Due to the unique way All-on-4 implants are placed, the need for supplemental treatments is greatly reduced and, in most cases, there’s no need for any bone grafting. This means fewer visits for treatment and a much faster path to the healthy, attractive smile you’ve been waiting for.
Are You a Candidate for All-on-4?
If you’re missing all of your teeth in one or both arches, it’s likely you’re a candidate for All-on-4 dental implants. Typically, patients with poor jawbone density don’t qualify for traditional implants, but All-on-4 allows more patients to receive implants than before.
Ideal candidates for All-on-4 dental implants are those who:
- Have good oral health
- Want immediate results
- Aren’t on medication
- Don’t smoke or use tobacco products
- Would typically need a bone graft
- Want a cost-effective treatment
How long do all-on-4 implants last?
All-on-4 dental implants are designed to last a lifetime with proper oral care and regular visits to our Waterloo-Kitchener dental office. In some cases, the implant may need to be replaced after 20 years, as well as your restoration piece that is secured to your implants in your upper and lower jaw.
Dental implants offer a long-term solution for all of our patients who suffer from tooth loss and we always want to ensure your treatment is successful and long-lasting.
Are all-on-4 dental implants removable?
All-on-4 dental implants are an advanced solution to traditional dentures because they never have to be removed. With all-on-4, the restoration piece made for your upper and lower arch is attached to four dental implants which are secured into your jawbone.
A major benefit of having all-on-4 dental implants is that you’ll no longer have to worry about a sliding denture piece when you eat or speak.
How do you clean all-on-4 dental implants?
Taking care of your all-on-4 implants is similar to how you care for single implants, as well as your natural teeth. You should continue to brush your teeth twice a day, floss regularly, and rinse with mouthwash after your hygiene routine.
Additionally, there may be some dental care products that can help make your all-on-4 dental implants last a lifetime. For example, use a soft-bristled toothbrush, avoid using whitening toothpaste with abrasive ingredients, choose nylon-coated floss, and find mouthwash that doesn’t list alcohol as an ingredient.
